About
The CoHo (Coffee House) stands the test of time as a key landmark in the Stanford student experience. Originally founded in 1966 as the Stanford Community Coffee House, our beloved establishment has consistently been led by and for students as a casual space to socialize, study, eat good food, drink good coffee and beer, and experience the arts.
When the CoHo closed its doors in the summer of 2007, students took notice and less than a year later, the CoHo reopened under the charge of Stanford restauranter, Ray Klein and Stanford Student Enterprises (SSE). Breathing new life into the CoHo, Klein embellished the walls with cartoons of famous Stanford graduates and expanded the menu to include a host of delicious pastries and lunch options.
The CoHo continues to keep it funky by offering a diverse lineup of arts and entertainment week-long. In early 2023, CoHo began partnering with the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) Social Project to develop a host of student-driven social events, lovingly called “CoHo Live.” We believe that good food, good company, and good entertainment are the perfect ingredients for a thriving community. We are thrilled to support our mighty Stanford Trees by hosting a variety of events throughout the year, from open mic nights and live music performances to poetry slams and trivia nights.
We are proud to have been a part of the Stanford community for over 40 years and look forward to continuing to serve students, faculty, and locals for many more years to come. Whether you're looking for a quick caffeine fix, a delicious meal, a cozy place to study, or a spot to enjoy live entertainment with friends, we welcome you to come and experience the magic of the CoHo for yourself.
